Job Description
Title: Maintenance Technician
Position Type: Full-time
Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of machinery and equipment at Swanson Bark & Products. This includes performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and making necessary modifications to improve efficiency. The Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all machinery and equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment
- Repair or replace faulty components as needed
- Modify equipment to improve efficiency and performance
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in maintenance or a related field
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, and twist for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing setting, with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery
- Some work may be performed outside, in varying weather conditions
- PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided and must be worn at all times while on the job.
