Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18-$21 per hour (to start) with ample growth opportunities
Job Description: We are a small shop with a team of dedicated professionals, and we are currently seeking a Tire/Mechanics Apprentice to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop valuable skills in tire changing and general automotive maintenance and repair. We are looking for an individual who is level-headed, a team player, and eager to learn. Responsibilities:
- Tire Changing: Learn to efficiently and accurately mount, balance, and dismount tires on a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs.
- Automotive Maintenance: Assist with general automotive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Repair Assistance: Support experienced mechanics in diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues, including engine, transmission, and electrical systems.
- Shop Maintenance: Keep the shop clean and organized, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their inquiries, providing recommendations, and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels, organizing stock, and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Deliveries: Make occasional deliveries using company vehicles, requiring a valid driver's license.
- Training and Development: Actively participate in training programs and acquire knowledge of industry advancements to enhance your skills as a mechanic.
Requirements:
- Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license to perform deliveries and run errands.
- Level-headed and Team Player: Display a calm demeanor and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, even in challenging situations.
- Willingness to Learn: Eager to learn and develop new skills in tire changing, automotive maintenance, and repairs.
- Basic Knowledge: Some prior knowledge of tire changing is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy tires, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
- Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented and able to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Exhibit critical thinking skills and the ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems.
- Flexible Schedule: Willingness to work occasional weekends and extended hours, depending on shop needs.
