Job Description
Tile Setter/Flooring Specialist
Local Vancouver Flooring Company is seeking highly skilled Tile Setters/Flooring Specialist to join their extremely busy team. This position is day shift Monday - Friday based out of Vancouver.
They focus on Commercial Flooring needs and want only the best to join their team. We need motivated and dedicated individuals who are looking for long term career opportunities. They stay busy year round and treat their employee's right!
Typical Duties:
-Cut and shape tile to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners, using hand and power cutting tools.
-Align and straighten tile using levels, squares, and straightedges.
-Lay and set tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
-Measure and mark surfaces to be tiled, following blueprints.
-Finish and dress the joints and wipe excess grout from between tiles, using damp sponge.
-Remove excess materials from finished construction projects.
-Study blueprints and examine surface to be covered
-Mix, apply, and spread plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives to form a bed for the tiles, using brush, trowel and screed.
-Remove any old tile, grout and adhesive using chisels and scrapers and clean the surface carefully.
-Clean surfaces in preparation for work activities.
-Measure materials or objects for installation or assembly.
