Opening: Administrator/Assistant Property Manager
Location: Fairbanks, AK
Pay: $22-$25 DOE
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and organized Administrator/Assistant Property Manager to join our client’s team on a 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will provide Alaskans with access to safe, quality, affordable housing. Working under the direction of the Property Manager, this role provides administrative and operational support to ensure the efficient day-to-day management of affordable housing communities in compliance with HUD guidelines and applicable housing regulations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities while building positive relationships with residents, staff, and community partners.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Support the Property Manager with daily property operations and administrative tasks
- Assist residents with rent payments, housing inquiries, and maintenance requests
- Process lease documents, resident files, move-ins, move-outs, and required program documentation
- Assist with rent calculations, annual recertifications, interim adjustments, and tenant recordkeeping
- Conduct routine property inspections, issue work orders, and monitor maintenance completion
- Assist with lease enforcement, resident communications, and occupancy activities
- Maintain accurate records and help ensure compliance with HUD requirements, agency policies, and applicable laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of office administration, customer service, property management, or related experience; affordable housing experience preferred
- Related business coursework or degree may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis
- Valid Alaska Driver's License with a clean driving record required, or ability to obtain one within 5 calendar days of hire
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures while maintaining accurate records
- Basic math skills and attention to detail when working with rent calculations and financial information
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, staff, and outside agencies
