Position: Structural Steel Fabricator
Location: Clackamas, OR
Pay: $28 – $38/hour (Depending on experience, certification level, and leadership ability)
Schedule: Full-Time

We are a leading custom steel fabrication company specializing in transmission towers and substations for the utility industry. As the largest producer of steel lattice towers in the Pacific Northwest, we are built on integrity, technical excellence, and quality. As we grow, we’re seeking skilled professionals to join our team.
What You’ll Do: Blueprint Interpretation & Job Setup

Read and interpret structural steel blueprints and fabrication drawings

Identify materials, validate cut lists, and set up jigs/fixtures
-
Layout steel components accurately using tapes, squares, and levels
-
Fit and prepare parts according to engineering drawings
-
Work with helpers on prep work, beveling, and grinding
-
Perform MIG and FCAW welding to AWS D1.1 standards
-
Weld both small subassemblies and large structures
-
Ensure weld quality and compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
-
Use proper measurement tools to inspect work during and after fabrication
-
Resolve fit-up issues before final welding
-
Adhere to project-specific tolerances and weld criteria
-
Follow all safety protocols and PPE guidelines
-
Maintain a clean and safe work area
-
Report all safety incidents and near misses immediately
-
Complete traveler documentation accurately
-
Track fabrication progress and maintain part traceability
-
Follow the “no travel/no move” policy

What You Need to Have: The Musts:
-
5+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication
-
Proficient in reading blueprints (AISC/shop drawing standards)
-
Certified or certifiable to AWS D1.1 (FCAW/GMAW)
-
Skilled with layout tools and fabrication techniques
-
Experience with overhead cranes and rigging
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred:
-
Experience with substation or transmission structures
-
Familiarity with fabrication travelers and traceability systems
-
Bilingual in English and Vietnamese is a plus
