Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $160,000+ PY

Opti Staffing Group is excited to partner with a respected subsidiary that is part of a larger Alaska Native Village Corporation. This subsidiary is stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, and widely acknowledged for its exemplary command over professional services and construction disciplines within its Commercial Services Division. The company’s expertise lies in delivering professional services and remote construction across arctic and subarctic Alaska, as well as nationwide. The project values with which the company typically engages range from $100K - $30 million plus.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As an Estimator, you will immerse yourself in a role that requires an autonomous individual experienced in all facets of construction estimating. Your responsibilities will sprawl across various areas including but not limited to:
- Analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Preparing and consulting cost estimates for construction projects or other contract services to aid management in bidding or determining the price of a product or service.
- Navigating through detailed comparisons of subcontractor and supplier quotes to discern the best value.
- Orchestrating estimates or proposals from initial conception to final submittal.
- Organizing and delegating assignments to teammates for large-scale estimates.
- Managing the estimates used by management for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Conducting special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to execute cost reduction.
- Creating initial project construction schedules, occasional travel to job sites, and assisting project managers from pre-construction to close-out.
The individual must bring to the table:
- A minimum of 5 years of commercial estimating experience.
- Proficiency in communication, both verbally and in writing, in a professional and effective manner.
- A detailed understanding of various construction techniques for various facets like mechanical, concrete, civil, and general construction, and managing subcontractors.
- Robust technical skills, including stellar written and verbal communication abilities.
- Analytical, critical-thinking, and technical skills with the ability to work under stringent deadlines.
- A thorough background in commercial construction, with federal project experience being a preferred attribute.
- Knowledge of computer operations and standard software packages, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
- An understanding of logistic challenges and cost and accounting methodology.
- Previous experience with Timberline or other estimating programs.
- $160,000+ PY DOE
