WHO WE ARE
Flooring company that was established in 2003 in Portland, Oregon. From the very beginning, quality has been our top priority. Locally owned and founded by hardworking long-time flooring experts, we strive to be the most respected and diversified flooring company in the Pacific Northwest.
We accomplish this by utilizing the most advanced equipment and materials in the industry and continually developing efficient and sustainable practices.
WHAT YOU'LLÂ DO:
We’re looking for a hands-on Small Equipment Repair Technician to join our team and take on light-to-moderate repair and maintenance work. This role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical background who enjoys troubleshooting and working on a variety of small industrial tools and equipment.
You'll be stepping into a role currently held by a long-time employee who will be transitioning out. We’re hoping to bring someone on within the next couple of weeks to allow for a smooth training period.
Â
Key Responsibilities:
-
Perform minor repairs and maintenance on small industrial equipment (e.g., vacuums, floor grinders, gas-powered tools).
-
Troubleshoot and repair equipment involving 110V, 208V, and 480V power systems.
-
Conduct electrical diagnostics and basic repairs—most work is electrical, not mechanical teardown.
-
Log repairs, replacements, or scrapped equipment into a digital system (basic computer skills required).
-
Assist with preventative maintenance and identify issues before they become major problems.
-
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures at all times.
What you need to have:
-
Electrical background required (experience with 110V, 208V, and 480V systems).
-
Familiarity with small motor equipment and gas-powered tools (no need for motor rebuilds).
-
Valid driver’s license.
-
Having basic hand tools is preferred; shop tools are provided.
-
Comfortable using a computer for basic data entry/logging.
-
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Administrative Sales Support
My name is Kacie and I have been with Opti for a fun and eventful three months! I recently decided to make a career move after working with kids over the last ten years and I couldn’t be happier that I chose to start that adventure here. I grew up in Southeast Alaska and moved to Oregon in 2013. I love it here because I can be surrounded by nature all the time and the ocean is only a short drive away. I enjoy traveling and spending time with my partner and our chinchilla. They are the highlights of my life, and we spend most of our time together outside of work. Being at Opti has opened so many doors for me and I’m so excited to see what comes next. I have learned so much so quickly and gained beautiful friendships along the way too. I had never worked for a company that celebrated their employees the way that we do here, until now, and I can’t imagine working anywhere else!
