Opening: Shipping/Receiving Technician
City: Vancouver, WA
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Shipping:
· Assures the accuracy of customer shipments.
· Packages customer orders and confirms accuracy of order.
· Packages customer orders to prevent any damage in transit. (i.e. bubble wrap/proper box size and all product is boxed).
· Performs duties and tasks required to be in compliance with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Census regulations for submitting information via the Automated Export System for all shipment releases outside the continental U.S. borders.
· Assures smooth flow of shipping documentation.
· Completes shortage board and removes shorts as they come in.
· Completes work orders distributed daily.
· Prepares UPS, FedEx, and other shipments.
· Actively participates in problem prevention and problem solving.
· Accurately performs required inventory transactions in the inventory system JDE (JD Edwards).
· Safely operates Forklift and other material handling equipment per the plant safety policies.
· Performs other duties as required.
Receiving:
· Performs manual and clerical duties related to the preparation and shipment of customer samples, components, and finished products.
· Utilizes small hand tools and operate scales, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move around material.
· Checks goods against shipping/receiving documents and authorizations, packs goods for shipment according to distribution grids and customer specifications, posts weights and box dimensions, and attaches information and shipping labels on boxes.
· Performs activities related to the receiving of items such as unpacking of customer supplied goods; checking production items for fulfillment, packing slips, etc., identification and quantity; maintaining records of goods received, rejects damaged, excess of production goods
· Performs other duties as required.
· Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize output.
· Responsible for keeping immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety to self and co-workers.

· Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
· Must be able to work in a team environment.
· Ability to read, understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
· Basic math requirements, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
· Ability to calculate percentages, discounts, credit amounts, cancelation fees, and restocking charges.
· Efficient computer skills.
· Demonstrate responsibility, respect, dependability, patience, and productivity to create a positive work environment.
Work Environment:
· Working in manufacturing environment.
· Job requires ability to bend, twist, turn. Repetitive use of hands and arms.
· Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to loud noises in the plant area.
· Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of shipping/receiving experience.
- Material handling experience, preferred.
- Experience with JDE (JD Edwards) system, preferred.
- Ability to learn and understand lean principles.
