Position: Senior Shop Mechanic – PM
Location: North Portland
Pay: $35 + (DOE) 
Schedule: Swing Shift

What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Shop Mechanic, you’ll perform advanced truck and trailer diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs in alignment with factory and industry standards. You’ll work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring safety and efficiency in all tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and cooling systems.

  • Rebuild, replace, or repair major components (engines, transmissions, suspensions, etc.).

  • Perform welding, minor body work, and electrical troubleshooting.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and tune-ups.

  • Estimate time and materials for repairs.

  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.

  • Keep shop, tools, and equipment in safe and orderly condition.

  • Follow OSHA and company safety requirements.

What You Need to Have:
The Musts:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 2–5 years of diesel mechanic experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of diesel and fuel engine maintenance/repair.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair independently.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Valid driver’s license (must be insurable).

  • Ability to meet physical requirements (lift up to 75 lbs, frequent standing, bending, kneeling, etc.).

Preferred:

  • Diesel Mechanic Degree or vocational/technical certification.

  • CDL with full endorsements.

  • Knowledge of OSHA, FMCSA, and regulatory requirements.

  • Welding experience.
