Opening: Semi Truck Technicians
City: Fife, WA
WHO THEY ARE:
From our humble beginnings as a small Texaco gas station on the border of Tacoma and Fife, we have evolved into a full-service auto and truck repair shop.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Shift 6am-2:30pm

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
Experience in working with industrial machinery and equipment, as well as experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment. Experience in mechanics, welding and CDL Class A driving . Strong problem-solving skills and be able to troubleshoot issues with equipment to determine the cause of the problem and identify the best solution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Diagnosing Problems: Using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment, the mechanic identifies and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues in semi-trucks. They may inspect engines, transmissions, drivelines, and other systems to pinpoint problems accurately.

Repair and Maintenance: Once the problem is identified, the mechanic performs repairs or replaces faulty parts. This can involve tasks like engine overhauls, brake adjustments, suspension repairs, or electrical system troubleshooting. They may also conduct routine maintenance procedures, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations.

Welding and Fabrication: Semi-truck mechanics often have skills in welding and fabrication to address structural damage or modifications. They may repair or reinforce frames, trailer bodies, or other components using welding techniques and appropriate tools.

Documentation and Reporting: It is important for mechanics to maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and services performed. They may also generate reports on the condition of the trucks and provide recommendations for preventive maintenance.

Communication and Customer Service: Semi-truck mechanics frequently interact with truck drivers, fleet managers, or other customers. They discuss repair options, explain diagnoses, and provide cost estimates for repairs. Effective communication skills and a customer-oriented approach are essential in this role.
