Experienced Research and Development Engineer Needed For Ceramics Manufacture!

 

As an R&D Engineer you will be responsible for assisting prototype engineers with process development and qualification. Your responsibilities will also include coordinating projects between sales, customers, purchasing, prototype development and production. Participating in drawing and design review as well as creating new, unique designs and concepts to customers. Must be able to evaluate and provide baseline recommendations for designs based on package costs and performance trade-off. Contribute to input regarding the cost of design, materials and process under the specific guidance of an engineer or manager. Required to train technician level personnel and associate engineers. Must assist development engineers with process development and qualification. Able to perform and analyze results of thermal and electrical simulation. Can generate own specific goals and prioritize workload so those actions are in alignment with department goals. And must be able to design tooling, fixtures, and jigs.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor' s Degree in Engineering, advanced degree is a plus

  • Minimum of 2+ years experience

  • Experience in the application of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular field or specialization

  • Familiarity with chemistry/ materials science concepts to apply engineered solutions to process problems

  • 2+ experience in wet chemical processing and waste treatment, experience with procurement and maintenance with wet chemical and gas handling equipment (wet benches, fume hoods, acid-waste neutralization systems, gas scrubbing systems) excellent problem solving/ troubleshooting skills/ verbal, written communication skills

  • Familiar with customers/ suppliers processes and thorough understanding of own process

  • Troubleshooting aptitude on lab equipment is preferred

  • Ability to present data, write project reports, and process strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Intermediate computer skills including Excel for data collection and graphical presentation of data

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and wear proper PPE

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet deadlines
