QA/QC Manager
Location: Clackamas, OR
Pay: $70,000 - $85,000 per year
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 hour shift
Who we are:
We are the largest producer of steel lattice towers in the Pacific Northwest. The facility encompasses approximately 4.5 acres and is capable of producing in excess of 500,000 lbs monthly. With our modern cnc machines we are able accelerate lead times, produce higher quality parts and increase production to meet the growing needs of the steel fabrication industry. As the largest purchaser of steel for lattice towers in the Northwest, we have established key relationships with raw material suppliers, improving supply integrity and on-time delivery.

QA/QC Manager

What you’ll do:
Perform Verification of in process shop fabrication dimensions based on drawings and specifications, perform visual and NDT weld inspections, and develop produces to accurately and thoroughly document to ensure compliance.

Initiate on-going audits and inspections to ensure the work performed meets or exceeds standards, issuing corrective action when needed.

Documentation (MTR) packages, prepare inspections and test records, and review vendor documentation.

Inform production management of any issues that will affect production, quality, or safety.

Performing dimensional inspections on steel pieces after assembly, inspecting welding preparations and tack welds, reporting, and addressing non-conformances, updating inspection progress in the system, interpreting plans and standards, and calibrating inspection tools.

Develop and maintain records adhered to QA/QC manual, policies, and adhered to AWS D1.1. Track welding procedures, specific cases per projects on nonconformance, and ability to maintain an organized folder.

Troubleshoot root cause analysis of defective products and presenting the findings to production manager.

Coordinate with customers on any modifications or inquiries with projects related to nonconformance, modifications to drawings or welding procedures, and tests conducted.

Performs regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety program policies and procedures.
What you need to have:
-
Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills
-
Coaching, listening, presenting, and interpersonal skills
-
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure fast-paced environment
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
-
Knowledge in welding, metallurgy, steel fabrication, and reading blueprints. Ability to interpret codes, drawings, and specifications, maintain dimensional tolerances, and use measuring tools
-
Qualified or able to obtain ASNT SNT-TC-1A qualification strongly preferred
-
Strong knowledge of welding techniques and standards
-
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred
-
3+ years experience in the field of structural steel fabrication, or 5+ years experience in the field of miscellaneous metal fabrication
-
High school diploma or GED required (degree preferred)
-
Experience with Galvanized Steel and AWS Welding standards is an asset
-
Structural Steel industry
