Opening: Project Accounting Technician
Location: Anchorage, Palmer, Wasilla
Pay: $22 - $26+ DOE

COMPANY INFO:
Opti Staffing Group is partnering with a leading organization in the government contracting sector to recruit for a Project Accountant position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Under the general direction of the Project Accountant Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Setting up contracts in the accounting system, Costpoint, including detailed contract setup, project number assignment, invoicing requirements establishment, and workforce establishment.
  • Communicating contract-specific information to other departments and subsidiaries and liaising with accounting staff and subsidiaries on contract issues.
  • Ensuring receipt of all contract-related files and aligning pricing with contract terms.
  • Entering contract modifications into the system and tracking funding.
  • Generating accurate and timely monthly invoices and revenue calculations.
  • Preparing reclasses and expense accruals as necessary.
  • Supporting projects until contract closeout.
  • Assisting in preparing Incurred Cost Submissions and gathering data for analysis.
  • Maintaining regular attendance and performing other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Two years of post-secondary education with relevant experience; a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred. Alternatively, four years of relevant accounting experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of two additional years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Minimum of one year of experience billing Federal Government multi-CLIN complex contract types (CPFF, CPIF, T&M, IDIQ, LOE, etc.).
  • Experience with Deltek/Costpoint, Cognos Reporting, WAWF, and IPP preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, resolve problems, and collaborate in group settings.
  • Excellent written and numerical communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret written information and apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Strong understanding of standard contract terms.
