We’re partnering with a well-established Alaska-based trust organization dedicated to providing exceptional health and welfare benefits to members across the state. This local team plays a vital role in supporting Alaskans’ access to quality health coverage, claims management, and member services.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As the Health & Welfare Supervisor, you’ll oversee a small, dedicated team responsible for claims processing and member service coordination. You’ll manage day-to-day operations related to health benefits, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolutions for participants and providers.
- Lead and mentor a team handling benefit claims, eligibility, and participant inquiries
- Serve as the primary contact for members, providers, and insurance carriers
- Oversee claims review, dispute resolution, and benefit verification
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with regulations and internal standards
- Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy and service delivery
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient benefit administration and communication
- Provide reporting and support for audits, compliance reviews, and policy updates
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in health benefits administration, claims management, or related field
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Strong understanding of insurance and claims processing procedures
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
