OPTI STAFFING GROUP IS HIRING!

Opening: Payroll Specialist

City: Anchorage, Alaska


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • 3 years of experience in payroll, demonstrating an increasing level of responsibility.
  • Must have knowledge of payroll labor laws and multi-state payroll taxes and concepts.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills, attention to detail and follow      through to resolve issues.
  • Competent in multi-state payroll tax filings
  • Must understand SCA, CBA and Davis Bacon prevailing wage payroll experience.
  • Reliable attendance is required to perform the job.
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook), internet use and spreadsheet development.
  • Familiarity with payroll software, Viewpoint and Data Basics preferred.
  • Knowledge of ACH banking.
  • Should have a professional appearance, be energetic, and take pride in work.
  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES: the Payroll Specialist will report to the Director of Finance
  • Oversee payroll processing from timesheets through W2’s.
  • Timesheet review, cost coding, and data entry of weekly & biweekly timesheets
  • Perform payroll calculations and processing using accounting software.
  • Maintain complete payroll documentation for paper & electronic files.
  • Remit and report payroll taxes and monthly, quarterly and yearly reports in a multi-state, multi-company environment, reconciling to the general ledger.
  • Willing to perform a variety of other accounting duties as assigned.
