Opti Staffing Group is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization that’s making a real difference in the lives of youth across Anchorage. We’re on the search for an experienced and detail-oriented HR Benefits & Payroll Specialist to support and enhance the organization’s employee experience through accurate payroll processing and comprehensive benefits administration.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As the HR Benefits & Payroll Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting the Human Resources team and ensuring all employees are paid accurately, on time, and have access to the benefits they need. You'll be responsible for:
- Conducting regular safety inspections of facilities and program areas
- Processing bi-weekly payroll for multi-site staff using payroll software
- Managing benefits administration including enrollment, changes, and employee education
- Supporting onboarding and offboarding with payroll/benefits setup and termination
- Reconciling benefits invoices and ensuring accurate deductions
- Assisting with compliance reporting (ACA, 1095-C, etc.)
- Acting as a point of contact for employee payroll and benefit questions
- Collaborating with the HR team to improve systems, policies, and employee communications
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of experience in payroll and/or benefits administration
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar)
- Familiarity with employment laws and benefits compliance requirements
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in a nonprofit or multi-site environment is a plus
- Knowledge of HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
