Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Job Summary:

The Material Handler I is responsible for receiving, moving, storing, counting, tracking, issuing, and shipping a variety of production parts, materials and supplies. The production floor relies on this position to provide the right parts and materials at the right time in order to meet on-time-delivery goals.

Essential Functions:
  • Move materials to and from receiving, production areas and shipping by hand, using sorting bins and carts, or other equipment
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
  • Work with the site’ s Production Material Planners, Buyer/Planners, and Cell Leads/Supervisors to ensure the cell operators have the proper materials
  • Ensure effective inventory control over all incoming and stocked materials
  • Receive, unpack, and stock materials
  • Issue critical materials to production cells
  • Lead the cycle count process for Value Stream; Escalate variances in counts, as needed
  • Keep accurate track of levels of inventory to ensure proper spending of Crane dollars
  • Read and interpret production reports
  • Respond to unplanned issues in a timely manner
  • Pack and ship materials in accordance with contract requirements
  • Process returned products
  • Ensure compliance with export compliance rules
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Non-Essential Functions:
  • Work on special projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: 0-1 year of relevant electronics manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge: Warehousing and materials packing knowledge; Familiar with lean principles
  • Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated outstanding manual dexterity; Demonstrated ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks; Demonstrated ability to accurately follow detailed work instructions; Demonstrated ability to understand standard work instructions; Math skills to perform basic calculations; Outstanding verbal communication skills; Proficient with MS Office
  • Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with manufacturing software tools
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microscopes

Working Conditions:
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
