Machine Operator III
Location: NE Portland, OR
Pay: $23/hr-$25/hr+ DOE
Schedule:
Swing / Mon-Thu 2:30pm-1am OR
Day / Mon-Thu 4am-2:30pm
We are looking for a machine operator to set-up and operate a variety of machines at the same time including set-up Fanuc, Allen Bradley four axis milling machines with robotic loading (mill, grinder, polisher, press, CNC machine tools, robots, and assembly equipment) to close tolerances and complex geometry. Perform complex and non-routine set-ups where tolerances are difficult to acquire and maintain.

What You’ll Do:
- Operate a variety of machinery to fabricate component parts.
- Perform difficult set-ups and changeovers on equipment to close and complex tolerances and may include numerical control and/or robot programming.
- Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. Makes mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements as necessary.
- Conduct regular quality audits of parts produced by measuring and inspecting components to tight tolerances.
- Knowledge and awareness to comply with all standard OSHA and State safety regulations and policies, RE: Lock Out Tag procedures for all types of equipment, proper handling of solvents and chemicals according to MSDS sheets, vision, hearing and respiratory protection, and proper lifting techniques as may be required within the scope of the job at hand. What You Need to Have:
- CNC experience
- VMC experience
- Ability to use inspection and measuring devices including calipers, drop indicators, height gauges, micrometers, Keyence and CMM equipment preferred.
- Ability to effectively utilize basic shop math skills required.
- Ability to work in high volume manufacturing environment
- High School diploma or GED required. National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is preferred.
- Two years formal technical training and one year work experience in a manufacturing environment or three years technical job experience with progressively complex machining assignments required, five years preferred. Expected to perform all levels I, II, & III of machine operations in the related work area.
- Knowledge and awareness to comply with all standard OSHA and State safety regulations and policies, RE: Lock Out Tag procedures for all types of equipment, proper handling of solvents and chemicals according to MSDS sheets, vision, hearing and respiratory protection, and proper lifting techniques as may be required within the scope of the job at hand.
- Advanced machine operation and mechanical knowledge including the ability to set up and change over various types of equipment required.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production systems preferred.
- Ability to read, comprehend, speak and write English at a level to effectively utilize and interpret MSDS’s, work instructions, and technical manuals.
- Basic blueprint reading and computer skills required.
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in rate control required.
