Opening: Machine Operator 1 – Swing Shift
City: Vancouver, WA
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Machines production parts by operating equipment such as arbor presses, drill presses, mechanical and hydraulic presses, molding machines, production lathes and mills including NC &CNC equipment using existing setups and/or fixtures. Starts and stops machines as required to maintain quality, safety and production efficiency.
Uses quality control gauges and typical measuring tools such as dial calipers, outside and depth micrometers, to monitor production parts for conformance to specifications.
Obtains tools from tool crib and returns them when finished or at the end of the shift and in a satisfactory condition. Replace dull tools such as drills, reamers, end and shell mills as needed.
Submits parts to in-process inspection in accord with accepted procedures.
Utilize Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools, as applicable, to reduce process variation, eliminate non-value added activities and defects and improve customer satisfaction.
Participation in at least one Kaizen event or on at least one six sigma project team annually.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently, write by hand and keyboard, and operate small measurement devices.
Ability to communicate by speech and hearing continuously. Communication is in person.
Visual acuity needed for close detail work, operating tools and machinery, using measurement devices and visual inspection involving small defects and parts.
JOB CONDITIONS:
General manufacturing environment. Work area may be subject to undesirable temperatures in winter and summer.
May require working with hazardous substances such as but not limited to cutting oils.

- Mon-Fri
- Day Shift
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
- Be able to “Multi Task”
- Must past background and UA test
- Must have own safety shoes and glasses (to be worn on site at all times)
- Willingness to work overtime and/or some Saturday’s
- Masks - provided
