Job Overview:
The Landscaping Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of landscaping projects. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to client specifications and quality standards. The PM will manage resources, coordinate tasks with various stakeholders, and maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and local regulatory requirements.

The PM will manage resources, coordinate tasks with various stakeholders, and maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Coordination:
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules to ensure smooth project execution.
- Coordinate the allocation of labor, materials, and equipment to optimize project workflow and efficiency.
- Collaborate with landscape architects, designers, and other professionals to ensure all project specifications are met.
- Oversee the procurement of necessary materials and plant stock, ensuring timely delivery.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
- Review and approve purchase orders, invoices, and change orders.
- Monitor project expenses and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or scope.
- Lead and manage on-site teams, including landscape technicians, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Provide training, guidance, and leadership to ensure teams meet safety standards and project goals.
- Resolve on-site conflicts and address performance or safety issues promptly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and addressing any concerns.
- Communicate with suppliers, subcontractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure all project needs are met.
- Manage client expectations, ensuring that changes in scope or timelines are communicated effectively.
- Ensure that all landscaping work meets client specifications, design plans, and applicable local codes.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure the quality of work and adherence to environmental guidelines.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on all job sites.
- Identify potential project risks and challenges, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Manage necessary permits, inspections, and compliance with local zoning laws and building codes.
- Troubleshoot any on-site issues, providing solutions to keep the project on schedule and within scope.
- Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, change orders, invoices, permits, and progress reports.
- Generate regular project status updates, timelines, and financial reports for stakeholders.
- Track project milestones and report on any variances or delays.
Qualifications: Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Design, or a related field (preferred).
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or relevant landscaping certifications is a plus.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in landscaping project management.
- Proven experience managing landscaping, grounds maintenance, or outdoor construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of plant care, irrigation systems, hardscaping, and landscape design principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project) and basic Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Financial management skills, including budgeting and cost tracking.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards specific to landscaping work.
- Ability to work with diverse teams, including landscapers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Landscape-related certifications (e.g., CLT, ISA, LEED, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for site visits.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to spend significant time outdoors, often in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry landscaping materials or equipment up to [weight limit] pounds.
- Comfort working in various terrains, including uneven ground or construction sites.
Working Conditions:
