Job Description
Journeyman Electrician — Full-Time
We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Electrician for work in Alaska. The ideal candidate holds a valid Alaska Journeyman Electrician license (or equivalent, per state reciprocity), works efficiently with minimal supervision, and can read plans and execute quality electrical work to code.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, panels, and fixtures
- Run conduit and pull wire per code and project specifications
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in residential, commercial, or industrial settings
- Test circuits and systems to ensure proper function and code compliance
- Install and connect electrical equipment, breakers, and control systems
- Collaborate with other trades (plumbing, HVAC, general contractors) on job sites
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
- Follow all OSHA, NEC, and site-specific safety requirements
- Report progress and issues to the job site supervisor/foreman
Requirements:
- Valid Alaska Journeyman Electrician license (Certificate of Fitness) or equivalent
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Experience with residential, commercial, and/or industrial electrical work
- Physical stamina: ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand, bend, kneel, and work at heights
- Comfortable working outdoors in Alaska weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a crew
