What You’ll Do
As an Iron Worker / Steel Erector, you’ll be responsible for:

Erecting structural steel: Beams, columns, and frameworks

Placing and securing reinforcing steel in concrete structures
-
Welding and fabricating components based on blueprints/specs
-
Using cranes, rigging tools, and lifts to position steel
-
Following job site safety protocols while working efficiently outdoors

What You Need to Have

Experience in iron work or steel erection
-
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints
-
Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor conditions
-
Reliable transportation to various Portland-area job sites
-
Strong awareness of job site safety protocols
The Musts
-
WABO or City of Portland welding certification (required)
-
Dependable and punctual
-
Physically fit for lifting and working at elevation
-
Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
-
Ability to follow direction and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
-
AWS welding certifications
-
OSHA 10 or 30
-
Signalperson or rigging credentials
-
First Aid/CPR certified
-
Experience with ornamental or architectural steel
