WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Instructor is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality instruction, advising on course content, and supporting learning objectives. They build strong relationships, guiding them to advance their careers through apprenticeship training or other relevant instruction, both in the classroom and lab settings.
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure training and pre-apprenticeship program initiatives are achieved
- Actively participate in program planning and curriculum development across all pre-apprenticeship programs
- Ensure all instructional equipment, supplies, and materials, to include audiovisual equipment and/or lab equipment, is in proper working condition and instructional materials/aids, e.g., handouts, etc. are available before class begins
- Appropriately evaluate and maintain records of progress, including attendance, documentation and grading as necessary in related systems
- Communicate with appropriate personnel prior to, during, and upon completion of courses to discuss essential course information, ongoing needs and evaluations of the course
- Make lesson plans that describe how information will be presented
- Provide orientation and ongoing technical support to assist with any other issues that arise that affect success in the program.
- Participate in instructor training activities, including but not limited to, diversity, facilities, procedures, and safety
- $75,000-85,000 per year, DOE
- Excellent paid Time Off (PTO)

- Must have machining or other manufacturing experience
- Must have strengths in course planning, project implementation, and coordination of stakeholders to meet class and program goals
- Must have proven experience in the successful operation and demonstration of a variety of industrial lab equipment and training methods
- Must have strong and demonstrated interpersonal communication skills
- Must have experience in providing training/orientation in one-on-one, online, and group formats
- Must be available for travel when required to provide training, support, or continuing education initiatives

I am born and raised in the Seattle area, and have never lived anywhere else. My wife, daughter, and I live in Renton, which is a perfect location for us. We live near all our friends and family, and we love taking advantage of all that the Northwest has to offer. Like the rest of my family, I graduated from the University of Washington, and am a huge Huskies fan. Most of my free time is spent spending time with my family, but besides that, I am a big Mariners and Seahawks fan (Bring back our Sonics!), and I coach high school basketball, which is a passion of mine. I love helping kids develop both on and off the court, and find it very rewarding to see former players as they get older and grow into young adults. Since graduating from college, I have had a number of jobs, but none that I really loved – until I started at Opti. The amazing culture that has been established is what I’ve been looking for. I love being able to help so many people – the satisfaction that comes from making that perfect fit drives me to work every day.
