Opening: Human Resources Business Partner (Hybrid)
Location: Anchorage, AK | Hybrid Schedule | Travel Required
Pay: DOE

We’re working with a growing organization seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to support day-to-day HR operations and act as a strategic partner to leadership. This role is highly collaborative, working closely with operations teams, leadership, and internal departments to ensure effective HR practices, compliance, and employee support across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with operational leaders to support HR functions across multiple contracts and teams
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor agreements, and internal policies
  • Advise managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, compensation, and HR best practices
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide recommendations for resolution
  • Manage onboarding, offboarding, and employee status changes to ensure compliance and consistency
  • Support recruitment efforts including reviewing candidates, coordinating interviews, and assisting with hiring processes
  • Assist with compensation reviews aligned with wage determinations, labor agreements, and market data
  • Develop and maintain HR reports, metrics, and data analysis to support decision-making
  • Maintain and optimize HRIS systems and ensure data accuracy and reporting capabilities
  • Lead or support HR projects, process improvements, and operational initiatives
  • Assist in development and updates of HR policies, procedures, and workflows
  • Support compliance reporting (EEO, affirmative action, and other regulatory requirements)
  • Coordinate employee orientation and training initiatives
  • Oversee and support employee leave programs including FMLA, military leave, and other leave types
  • Ensure compliance with pre-employment and ongoing requirements such as background checks and drug testing (DOT and non-DOT)
  • Partner with leadership to improve HR processes, employee experience, and operational efficiency

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and investigations
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience supporting multi-site or government contracting environments strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements
  • Experience with labor relations, CBAs, or union environments is a plus
  • HRIS experience required (Deltek Costpoint experience required)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Must be comfortable working in Anchorage and traveling as needed
