WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • HVAC Estimating, Sales, Backlog generation
  • Project Management of HVAC projects
  • Bid and Sell HVAC projects through various channels
  • Business development through strong network
  • Seek and bid HVAC projects to the private sector, plan spec, and design build sectors
  • Thorough demonstration of local codes, specifications and permitting
  • Prepare bids and proposals, including estimating
  • Develop HVAC solutions and systems that are customer and sustainability centric
  • Understand and implement HVAC load calculations (calculate heating and cooling needs)
  • Determine budget cost systems and write up detailed bid and estimates
  • Manage and coordinate projects
  • Coordinate and collaborate with architects and engineers when designing heating and cooling systems
  • Adhere to all building codes and obtain proper building permits when necessary
  • Manage safety and environmental policies and standards in design and execution of projects
  • Manage bids and proposals
  • Prepare estimates and proposals with other team members to develop the best solution
  • Develop and maintain a CRM system
  • Champion safety to all team members and customers, maintaining safe work practices as a #1 priority
  • Write reports and business correspondence
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from customers
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:
  • $55,000-75,000/year to start, DOE
  • Generous commission and bonus structure on top of base salary

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
  • HVAC, refrigeration, piping, sheet metal, or relevant trade qualification
  • Strong commercial HVAC project experience
  • At least 10 years of related HVAC and or mechanical experience required (or an equivalent combination of both education and experience)
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Business acumen and financial aptitude
  • Ability to identify customer’s needs and translate into sales opportunities
  • Problem solving ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and design, estimating software, Bluebeam, and Procore
  • Professional appearance
  • Strong interpersonal skills, achievement-oriented, self-motivated, and organized
  • Local Washington State industry knowledge

I am born and raised in the Seattle area, and have never lived anywhere else. My wife, daughter, and I live in Renton, which is a perfect location for us. We live near all our friends and family, and we love taking advantage of all that the Northwest has to offer. Like the rest of my family, I graduated from the University of Washington, and am a huge Huskies fan. Most of my free time is spent spending time with my family, but besides that, I am a big Mariners and Seahawks fan (Bring back our Sonics!), and I coach high school basketball, which is a passion of mine. I love helping kids develop both on and off the court, and find it very rewarding to see former players as they get older and grow into young adults. Since graduating from college, I have had a number of jobs, but none that I really loved – until I started at Opti. The amazing culture that has been established is what I’ve been looking for.
