General Accountant

Location: Portland, OR
Compensation: $65K - $75K per year, DOE
Hours: Mon-Fri

Our company is very stable, it was founded in 1949, and we have 8 branches across the U.S. Our production facilities are located here in Portland, Oregon. What You'll Do:
  • Work in tandem with our accounting personnel at the branch level, as well as at the customer level
  • Deal with Purchase Cards and all transactional entries and issues
  • Manage all Purchase Cards for all branches with reconciliation, orders, termination, etc.
  • Involved in all transactional entries and issues.
  • Be the liaison for Office Manager for all branches – deal with customer and vendor issues, errors in billing and system.
  • Administrator for customer billing site for down payments, online billing, and system issues
  • Advance and progress billing creation and tracking for all branches.
  • Cash and bank reconciliation as needed.
  • General ledgers preparation and entries
  • Cost accounting services for Field Engineering and Corporate Audit departments, including posting entries to and closing work orders.
  • Reconcile general ledger account balances as assigned on an ad hoc or continuing basis, including writing up journal entries and/or requesting system entries as needed.
  • Back-up for various daily or monthly processes; other duties and projects as needed.

  • Minimum 2-year accounting degree or 3+ years of experience in accounting
  • Proficient in accounting software (Other than QuickBooks)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a CPA firm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient and HIGH LEVEL of experience in MS Office and EXCEL
