We are a second-generation, family-owned business that has evolved from its origins as a fire line installer into a company that now offers comprehensive interior fire protection systems and turnkey site preparation services.
Founded over 40 years ago, the company was established to meet the growing demand for a reliable underground fire line contractor in the Puget Sound area, with a vision to build a business that would eventually expand into overhead fire sprinklers.
After 10 years, the company took the next step with the launch of its Fire Protection Division, initially focusing on warehouses and tenant improvements. By the early 1990s, we diversified into earthwork and underground utilities, completing both commercial and public sector projects. Throughout its growth, innovation and ingenuity played a crucial role in maintaining a competitive edge in these challenging industries.
Over the years, we have consistently broadened our range of services to include commercial buildings, schools, aerospace facilities, healthcare centers, shopping malls, and high-rise offices. Additionally, we have established a dedicated service department to handle the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of all types of fire protection systems.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Develop positive working relationships with customers interested in purchasing design, fabrication, and installation of fire sprinkler systems.
- Demonstrate products or services and provide assistance in the best application of products or services.
- Read and comprehend plans and specifications.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including design, materials, fabrication, equipment, permits, subcontracts, consulting fees, and installation labor.
- Negotiate, review, and execute price and terms of agreements.
- Meet with owners, property managers, contractors and subcontractors on site to review site conditions and discuss bid scope when necessary.
- Maintain knowledge and have a clear understanding of the application of all local and national codes, specifications, and guidelines set forth by authorities having jurisdiction.
- Participate in pre-bid, pre-construction, and post project completion meetings.
- $90,000-125,000/year to start, DOE

- 1+ years of sales and bidding experience in the fire protection industry.
- 1-3 years of construction experience preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoSPRINK.
- Technical understanding and knowledge of automatic sprinkler systems and components.
- NICET II or III in Water Based Layout.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software
- Thorough understanding of general construction methods, practices, and terminology.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of local and national fire and building codes, as well as government regulations.
- Familiarity with blueprints and ability to read plans.

I am born and raised in the Seattle area, and have never lived anywhere else. My wife, daughter, and I live in Renton, which is a perfect location for us. We live near all our friends and family, and we love taking advantage of all that the Northwest has to offer. Like the rest of my family, I graduated from the University of Washington, and am a huge Huskies fan. Most of my free time is spent spending time with my family, but besides that, I am a big Mariners and Seahawks fan (Bring back our Sonics!), and I coach high school basketball, which is a passion of mine. I love helping kids develop both on and off the court, and find it very rewarding to see former players as they get older and grow into young adults. Since graduating from college, I have had a number of jobs, but none that I really loved – until I started at Opti. The amazing culture that has been established is what I’ve been looking for.
