What You’ll Do:
As a Senior CNC Programmer, you’ll play a critical role in transforming complex designs into precision-cut steel components essential for major construction projects. You’ll program CNC equipment, optimize production processes, and collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for steel fabrication machinery, including plasma cutters, laser cutters, drill lines, beam lines, saws, and robotic welders.
- Interpret complex fabrication drawings, blueprints, and 3D models for projects such as bridges, stadiums, transportation systems, healthcare facilities, and commercial structures.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure CNC programs align with project specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and refine CNC programs to improve machine efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
- Maintain CNC program libraries and documentation, ensuring version control and accurate records.
- Assist in developing standardized procedures for CNC programming and machining operations.
- Provide technical support and training to CNC machine operators.
- Collaborate on process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies throughout all programming and machining activities.

What You Need to Have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC programming within steel fabrication, preferably focused on structural steel for large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Tekla, AutoCAD, SigmaNEST, ProNest, or similar).
- Strong understanding of CNC machinery used in structural steel fabrication, such as beam lines, plasma tables, drill lines, and saws.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Experience working on projects in bridges, stadiums/arenas, transportation, healthcare, or commercial sectors.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams.
The Musts:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Solid understanding of material properties and fabrication techniques for structural steel.
- Commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with CNC machine maintenance and calibration.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience.
