Opening: Eligibility Technician
Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $19/hr
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Be familiar with the Child Care Programs Policies and Procedures as set forth by the State of Alaska; be able to make decisions based on the policies set forth by the Division of Public Assistance in the absence of the Program Manager.
- Be proficient in the state Child Care Assistance Computer Software Program as well as Microsoft Office products.
- Schedule and conduct parent interviews for program eligibility. Determine subsidy level and eligible/available program funds. Maintain accurate and timely Debarred files for clients as well as a Wait List if space or program funds are limited. Issue authorizations between parent(s) and provider(s). Issue appropriate notes and write appropriate case notes.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records and filing system ensuring confidentiality. Act as a liaison between parent and provider.
- Be responsible for parent and provider recordkeeping and correspondence. Be prepared to aid and referrals to clients when appropriate.
- Attend training and seminars provided by AFS and/or the State of Alaska as available.
- Assist in maintaining the office space in a clean, safe and professional manner.
- Provides excellent customer service to clients.
- Employee will participate and support Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) initiatives as needed.
- Support, adhere to and carry out all policies, directives and safety procedures of AFS, to the best of their ability.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- General knowledge of office practices and satisfactory experience with computer applications.
- Appropriate writing skills.
- Must pass a criminal history background check
