As a Diesel Mechanic you will perform journey-level work in diagnosis, repair, and service of semi tractors, and heavy-duty trucks, buses, and related equipment such as hydraulic systems.
 Essential Functions:
- Overhaul and repair diesel engines.Â
- Diagnose and repair all types of equipment problems including repair and/or rebuild engines and power train and related components.
- Diagnose and repair tires, cooling, electrical, brakes (including ABS), steering, air intake systems, fuel injection systems, emissions, suspension systems, electronic components.
- Repair and replace interior systems and components.
- Perform drivability diagnostics.
- Install and/or remove specialized equipment to meet department's specific needs.
- Operate computer information systems for service and repair data retrieval.
- Repair and maintain shop equipment.
- Clean shop floors, benches and equipment when needed.
- Know and understand codes and formats for querying PCMs (OBD l & OBD ll); follow precise diagnostic flow chart repair processes.
- Utilize various shop manuals, users' guides, and schematics.
- Maintain service, maintenance, repair and other related records in a computer database information management system.
- Read and interpret various manufacturer wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and similar drawings.
- Must be able to properly complete parts requisitions.
- Help people.
- Dispense fuel, wash and vacuum vehicles when needed.
- Provide daily, weekly, monthly reporting as requested.
- Maintain a professional and positive working environment.Â
 Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years experience working in a shop.
- Must have own tools.
Licenses, Certificates and other requirements.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must have a good driving record.
- Class C CDL is a plus.
- Proof of personal automobile liability insurance.
- Reliable personal transportation.
