Cremationist
Location: NE Portland
Pay: $20 per hour
Hours: Full-Time

What You’ll Do:
We’re seeking a responsible and respectful Cremationist to join our team. In this role, you’ll operate crematory equipment, maintain compliance with all safety and legal standards, and ensure the highest level of care is provided throughout the cremation process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform cremations in accordance with all state and federal regulations
• Handle human remains with utmost dignity and respect
• Complete and verify all required documentation and chain-of-custody forms
• Maintain and operate crematory equipment and perform basic maintenance
• Clean and prepare the crematory area and equipment between services
• Assist funeral directors and staff as needed with various tasks
• Communicate with families when appropriate in a compassionate and professional manner
What You Need to Have:
• 1–3 years of experience in funeral service or cremation preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
• Oregon Crematory Operator Certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong attention to detail and respect for protocol
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Compassion, integrity, and emotional maturity
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in both indoor and outdoor environments
