Opening: Construction Superintendent
City: Tacoma, WA
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Working Superintendent with a background in commercial construction projects. As a Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of our projects. You will be responsible for overseeing on-site activities, project administration, coordination of subcontractors, and hands-on carpentry work. If you have at least 5 years of experience as a superintendent in commercial construction and possess general carpentry skills, we encourage you to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Carpentry Expertise: Perform various carpentry tasks essential to the project, such as concrete work, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and more.
Construction Supervision: Oversee the entire construction process, ensuring that the project aligns with design, budget, and schedule. This includes effective communication with client representatives, suppliers, and other contractors.
Team Supervision: Manage craft employees and subcontractors in compliance with project requirements.
Technical Assistance: Provide technical guidance, including interpreting drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment.
Project Procedures: Assist the Project Management team in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, and other necessary documentation.
Safety Compliance: Ensure that all on-site personnel adhere to project procedures and safety program requirements. Document safety violations, report them to Project Management, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Productivity and Efficiency: Take responsibility for the productivity of crafts, efficient material/equipment use, and adherence to project contract requirements.
Documentation: Maintain thorough project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and relevant records.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction management or craft supervision, with a focus on commercial projects.
Construction Knowledge: Proficient in all aspects of construction methods.
Safety Awareness: Competent understanding of construction safety standards and practices.
Screening: Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screening and driving record screening.
Carpentry Skills: General carpentry experience on commercial projects is essential.
Qualifications:
Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer applications, including email, scheduling software, daily inspections, and safety reporting.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and effective supervisory skills.
Compensation:
35-40/hr
