Job Description
OPTI STAFFING GROUP IS HIRING!
Job Opening: CNC Mill Machinist
Location: Tacoma, WA
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Who We Are: Founded in Tacoma, Washington in 1954, we began as a small stamping operation with a commitment to quality and precision. Over the decades, we've steadily expanded our capabilities and facilities to meet the evolving needs of our customers across diverse industries. Today, we operate out of a 50,000 sq. ft. facility and offer a comprehensive range of services including CNC machining, welding and fabrication, metal punching, forming, and assembly. We’ve also added specialized capabilities such as deep hole drilling and honing, allowing us to take on more complex and demanding projects.
What You'll Do: We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist—not just an operator—with a strong background in precision machining and a passion for creating high-quality, production-ready parts. This position is ideal for someone with at least five years of experience working with CNC mills, jigs and fixtures, and complex setups. The right candidate will have a hands-on approach to machining and enjoy taking ownership of the full process, from interpreting technical drawings to setting up jobs and making real-time program edits at the machine.
What You'll Need: To be a strong fit for this role, you should have a solid foundation in CNC milling with at least five years of hands-on experience in a precision machining environment. You’ll need to be comfortable with complex setups, including building and using jigs and fixtures, and capable of working independently from engineering drawings or blueprints. A working knowledge of M and G code is essential, along with the ability to create or modify simple programs directly at the machine. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality parts are critical. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, thrives in a fast-paced shop environment, and is always looking for ways to improve efficiency and consistency in the machining process.
What's In It For You: This position offers competitive pay ranging from $28.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level. You can expect a steady schedule of at least 40 hours per week, with opportunities for growth and advancement in a well-established and growing shop. In addition to a strong hourly wage, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off to support a healthy work-life balance. If you’re looking for a stable, long-term opportunity where your skills are valued, your input matters, and you can be part of a supportive, experienced team—this is the place for you.
