Since 1941, we have provided ISO 9001 certified prototype machining, 5-axis machining, welding, finishing and assembly. We operate the largest precision machine shop in the Northwest and have the ability to react quickly to our customer’s needs and get large, complex projects completed on schedule.
With a rock star team of certified, experienced professionals, our state-of-the-art machine shop in Seattle, WA provides composite tooling, integrated systems, engineering, aerospace tooling, fabrication and welding, shaft turning, large machining, horizontal boring, 5-axis machining, inspection, finishing and logistics.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Set up and run prototype and one-off components on a variety of CNC machinery including lathes and mills.
- Optimize prepared programs at the machine for speeds and feeds.
- Work with a variety of materials from Steel and Aluminum to exotics like Inconel and Titanium.
- Read blueprints and part sheets to determine proper approach to creating precision parts.
- Bring ideas to the table to increase efficiency and lower downtime and scrap.
- $68,000-$87,000 per year to start

- Bring 5 years’ minimum prior related experience in a job shop or similar prototype and R&D environment.
- CNC programming experience.
- Experience running 5-axis machines.
- Have knowledge of and experience with using G & M codes.
- Be well versed in geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
- Have a very strong grasp of and in the use of measuring and inspection equipment.
- Be a team player able to work well with little or no supervision, or within a team as needed.

I am born and raised in the Seattle area, and have never lived anywhere else. My wife, daughter, and I live in Renton, which is a perfect location for us. We live near all our friends and family, and we love taking advantage of all that the Northwest has to offer. Like the rest of my family, I graduated from the University of Washington, and am a huge Huskies fan. Most of my free time is spent spending time with my family, but besides that, I am a big Mariners and Seahawks fan (Bring back our Sonics!), and I coach high school basketball, which is a passion of mine. I love helping kids develop both on and off the court, and find it very rewarding to see former players as they get older and grow into young adults. Since graduating from college, I have had a number of jobs, but none that I really loved – until I started at Opti. The amazing culture that has been established is what I’ve been looking for.
