Day shift: 6am - 2:30pm
Swing shift: 2:30pm - 10:45pm
Pay: $20 - $26

Who we are:
Our client is a precision sheet metal manufacturing and engineering company. They specialize in providing high-quality sheet metal fabrication, engineering solutions, and integrated assembly services to meet a wide range of customer needs.

What you'll do:
This bonus-eligible position is responsible for operating both computer-controlled and manual machines to fabricate materials. The role includes loading and cycling parts, running production lots, identifying and addressing machine malfunctions, and communicating effectively with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth production operations.
  Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC and manual machines, including Haas ST-15Y lathesmanual lathes, and Haas 3-axis and 5-axis mills, as well as manual knee mills.

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes; load tools and programs, set and adjust work/tool offsets, and ensure production accuracy.

  • Utilize Haas controls to input G & M codes, calculate feeds and speeds, and optimize programs and fixturing for repeat parts.

  • Interpret blueprints, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining processes.

  • Inspect parts to ensure conformance to specifications (typically within ±.005 tolerance) using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and other precision tools.

  • Detect and address malfunctions such as worn or damaged cutting tools; troubleshoot and assist across multiple machines as needed.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.

  • Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth production runs and continuous process improvement.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a metal manufacturing environment with extensive background in precision lathe and mill setup and operation.

  • Proficient with manual inspection equipment and First Article Inspection (FAI) processes.

  • Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprintsmaking offset changes, and working independently on complex setups.

  • Strong foundation in machine shop fundamentals and metalworking techniques; manual machining experience preferred but not required.

  • Experienced using Haas controls; capable of loading programs, tools, and fixtures, setting tool/work offsets, and running first parts.

  • Able to read and understand machine codes and adjust programs per setup sheets as needed.

  • Mastercam and G&M code experience highly desirable.

  • Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, depth gauges) and comfortable working within tight tolerances (±.005”).

  • Excellent blueprint reading and math skills, including trigonometry and decimal/fractional conversions.

  • Trade school training and lean manufacturing experience a plus.

  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.

  • High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

  • Dependable, honest, and proactive, with effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
