WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Ensure the company has adequate systems and procedures for the control of cash and protection of company financial assets.
- Ensure financial statements are properly presented and analysis of key accounts completed, including identifying possible problem areas.
- Monitor insurance coverage.
- Monitor payroll compliance with applicable company policies and laws and coordination of employee benefit plans, workers compensation claims, etc.
- Analysis of job costs; identify problem areas and possible solutions.
- Prepare sales/excise tax reports and city B&O reports; supervise the preparation and payment of payroll taxes.
- Ensure all other financial or payroll reports required by outside agencies are filed in a timely manner (garnishments, census, disability reports, etc.)
- Reconcile multiple bank accounts.
- Maintain depreciation schedule and asset listing.
- Review all general ledger account balances.
- Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and close month-end and year-end.
- Coordinate year-end tax filings with outside CPA firm, and annual insurance auditors.
- Supervise activities of A/R, A/P and HR/personnel.
- Any other duties/assignments which may be determined by the Controller.
- $70,000-90,000/year

- Associates degree or higher is required
- Previous experience as an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller is required
- Previous experience as an Assistant Controller with supervisory responsibility of a staff of a construction-related company is preferred
- General knowledge of construction industry accounting and job costing is preferred
- Experience with Sage 300CRE accounting software is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Ability to manually complete a bank reconciliation is preferred

Like the rest of my family, I graduated from the University of Washington, and am a huge Huskies fan. Most of my free time is spent spending time with my family, but besides that, I am a big Mariners and Seahawks fan (Bring back our Sonics!), and I coach high school basketball, which is a passion of mine. I love helping kids develop both on and off the court, and find it very rewarding to see former players as they get older and grow into young adults. Since graduating from college, I have had a number of jobs, but none that I really loved – until I started at Opti. The amazing culture that has been established is what I’ve been looking for.
