Opening: Accounting Manager
Location: Anchorage, AK

Opti Staffing Group is partnering with a reputable organization in Anchorage, AK, seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As an Accounting Manager in Anchorage, you will be responsible for:
- Recording financial transactions in compliance with professional and governmental requirements.
- Supervising accounts receivable personnel.
- Managing monthly closing and reporting.
- Reconciling balance sheets and maintaining the current accounting system.
- Coordinating accounting-related functions performed by other staff to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting principles and procedures.
- Backing up the Finance Director in preparing monthly financial statements for reporting to the Board of Directors and management.
- Backing up the Payroll Administrator in all duties and performing tasks in their absence or as needed.
- Maintaining an accurate filing system of all Accounts Payable transactions, including but not limited to invoices and backup documents.
- Preparing and mailing out account statements to customers, including monthly statements and past due invoices.
- Preparing overdue account reports for Assets’ Department Managers.
- Monitoring compliance with department accounting systems and procedures and recommending revisions as needed, including performing internal audits.
- Evaluating all accounting systems and functions for appropriate internal controls and documentation in cooperation with the Finance Director.
REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- At least a 2-year associate’s degree in Accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university preferred.
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible general accounting experience or equivalent.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Workable knowledge of Microsoft Access and accounting programs.
