Opening: Accountant
Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $28 - $31 DOE
COMPANY INFO:
Opti Staffing Group is proud to partner with a well-established organization in Anchorage, AK, seeking a skilled and meticulous Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment while managing key accounting functions and contributing to the financial stability of the organization.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Prepare daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash accounts, ACH transfers, and accounts payable.
- Review month-end general ledger activity and prepare accurate financial statements.
- Assist with preparing annual audit files and providing support during external audits.
- Process journal entries for invoices, reimbursements, and benefits-related transactions.
- Prepare Pension wire transfers, tax deposits, and other monthly accounting duties.
- Compile and prepare year-end tax forms, including Form 990 and Form 5500.
- Assist with non-discrimination testing, board meeting schedules, and other regulatory compliance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records, including variance reports, legal status reports, and employer contribution corrections.
- Compile financial highlights and cash flow reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews.
- Ensure all audit materials are properly organized and accessible for external auditors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with Great Plains software and knowledge of complex investments is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
