Opening: AP/Payroll Specialist - Construction
Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $28 - $34 per hour

Opti Staffing Group is proud to partner with a well-established construction company in Anchorage that is looking for a highly skilled AP/Payroll Specialist to join their team! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong construction and oilfield background who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
In this role, you will take ownership of Accounts Payable (AP) and Payroll functions, working closely with the HR Manager, owner, and project managers to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing AP and Payroll with precision and efficiency.
- Handling Davis-Bacon Wages & Certified Payroll with expert-level proficiency.
- Conducting cost accounting, AR, and financial auditing as needed.
- Cleaning up and organizing financial records—this is a great role for someone who enjoys tackling challenges!
- Navigating QuickBooks Desktop
- Thriving in a casual yet professional environment while working with a team of strong personalities
REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Strong background in Davis-Bacon Wages & Certified Payroll (MUST-HAVE).
- Construction industry experience (this is non-negotiable).
- Experience handling AP, AR, Payroll, and Cost Accounting.
- QuickBooks Desktop experience (Online-only experience will not be sufficient).
- A willingness to clean up financial records and implement best practices.
- Drug-free status (DOT random drug testing is required).
BENEFITS:
- $100 per week gas reimbursement (even though no travel is required).
- PTO accrual after one year.
- A casual work environment — jeans and a hoodie are just fine!
- 30 hours per week to start, with potential for full-time within 3-4 months.
- Flexible start times: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, or 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
