Mechanical Engineer and/or Designer/Drafter
Location:  Portland, OR
Pay:  $80K - $120K
Schedule: Flexible FT        





This is Portland's premier Plumbing and Mechanical Contracting firm. It is locally owned and operated and is experiencing phenomenal growth. They strive to provide excellent customer service while creating a work culture that is memorable and enjoyable for its employees. 

What you'll do:
As a Mechanical Engineer & Plumbing Designer, you will work alongside the Principal Engineer to create mechanical and plumbing designs, provide BIM services, provide CAD support for the field personnel using total station survey instruments, and BIM and CAD software to detail ductwork and piping. Some of your responsibilities will include:

Create and develop mechanical & plumbing design documents used for planning, permitting, bidding, and construction.
Design HVAC/mechanical and plumbing systems for commercial and government buildings, schools, apartments, tenant installs, and other projects ranging from small to large new buildings and renovations. 
Design of ductwork, fans, dampers, inlets, and outlets
Design of boiler plants and hydronic piping
Design of building plumbing systems including water heating, pumps and more.
Create detailed BIM and CAD models of ductwork and piping for manufacture and assembly.
Write and develop construction specifications.
Write project proposals and design cost estimates.
Coordinate with installers in a fast-paced environment
Participate in project meetings. 
As well as other responsibilities deemed necessary and appropriate for the position.

Pay range is DOE being between $80K-$120K.

What you need to have:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school or equivalent experience. And/or 2-3 years of experience as Drafter/Designer in  plumbing and HVAC systems
Knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, fans, pumps, chiller and boiler systems, and controls
Knowledge of plumbing systems
Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and energy building codes.
Experience with Auto CAD is required.
Experience with Revit Required
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Clear and concise communication skills

Preferred:
Construction field experience is a plus. 
Installation experience
Licensed Engineer (or first test completed)
