Location: Portland, OR
Pay: $80k-$100k+, DOE
We are working with a Portland Design/Build company specializing in residential projects including accessory buildings like ADUs, Home Studios, and Detached Bedrooms, as well as new homes, remodeling, and additions. Are you a seasoned mid-career construction expert with a knack for leadership and innovation? We're searching for an enthusiastic and dynamic Chief Operating Officer to spearhead our continued growth and success into new realms of success and creativity. We are looking for an outstanding Chief Operating Officer to take advantage of this career opportunity! As the COO, you will have the opportunity to co-own the business with the founder.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead with Heart and Expertise: Bring your years of construction mastery to the forefront as you inspire and lead our team to unparalleled heights of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Working closely with the Business Development Manager and Superintendent to successfully decipher blueprints and job site conditions, marketing efforts, providing detailed estimates, as well as working with our office administration team to oversee financial planning, budgeting, and cost forecasting.
- Strategic Architect: Develop and implement visionary strategies that propel our unique construction company forward, driving growth, profitability, and industry recognition in areas such as client relations, resource allocation, process optimization, risk management, and financial planning.
- Team Catalyst: Oversee daily field and office operations while working in tandem with our foremen to ensure successful project execution; fostering collaboration and celebrating achievements.
- Quality Crusader: Ensure that every job is a masterpiece and reflects our commitment to perfection, quality materials, and meticulous attention to detail. Foster deep connections with potential clientele and current partners, ensuring satisfaction and addressing concerns.
- Efficiency Maestro: Streamline processes, harness technology, and champion our best practices to optimize productivity, resource utilization, and project timelines.
What You Need to Have:
- Previous industry owners are encouraged to apply!
- Construction certification(s) HIGHLY PREFERRED
- 3-5 years of construction and/or carpentry experience
- Experience with custom residential construction
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret building documents (blueprints, plans, sections, and elevations).
- Budget and procurement experience
- Financial Acumen and Business Management
- Project management experience
- Vendor management experience
- Industry quality control experience
- Self-starter who can make smart decisions and is comfortable asking questions
- Familiarity with Contractor Forman software or similar platform
