Residential Drafter

One of the most established home builders  in the NW is looking to add a Residential Drafter to their team. Ideal candidate will have a passion for home building and be able to bring high-energy and enthusiasm to our team. Great growth opportunity for the right candidate!


Ability to Draft residential plan sets from production to custom in Autodesk AutoCAD LT 2016

Ability to draft plot plans, erosion, landscape, and final grade topography for single family dwellings

Ability to understand prescriptive path bracing and apply to plan sets (this is a requirement for this position)

Ability to understand wind speed and exposure categories, snow loading, and seismic conditions

Review and Redline capabilities of construction drawing sets to 2015 IRC desired

Understand and review truss documents

Coordinate, understand, and review structural engineering documents

Coordinate, understand, and review floor system framing and engineering

Hold concept meetings on design

Good internal and external communication skills

Proficient in AutoCAD LT, Excel and Word

Ability to work in office environment 40+ hours a week

Good time management, problem solving and organizational skills

Self motivated

Ability to work well as a member of a team

Please note that speed drafting with accuracy is required. For candidates being considered for employment, there will be a skills test administered as part of the hiring process*

Preferred Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor in Architecture Preferred

5   years' experience in residential design work could supplement for Education requirements

Wood Frame Construction experience is a major plus!
