Position Summary:  The Patient Accounts Manager plays a tactical, strategic, and leadership role in a high-profile group tasked with improving revenue results by taking a global view of financial processes, functions and inter-dependencies from the provision of patient care through accurate payment resolution. The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership and manage work flow through a structured process, capture and report metrics.

Responsibilities:
This position directly supervises the Patient Accounts Team (including but not limited to: Cash Posting, Billing & Contract specialists). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’ s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Requirements:
Bachelor’ s Degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration preferred 

5+ years patient accounting experience; 
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. 
3+ years experience in managerial/supervisory capacity 
Experience working in Behavioral Health preferred 
Budgetary responsibility experience preferred 

Experience with Six Sigma, LEAN or other process improvement methodology preferred 

Thorough understanding of third party medical insurance requirements including, but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross and Blue Shield and local Physician Health Organizations. 

Experience in leading a team towards professional success and providing leadership through example and sharing of knowledge, information and skills.
