Field Project Manager

Local Vancouver Industrial Contractor is looking for a Field Project Manager!

 

The role of the Project Manager is to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities of a project.

Responsibilities

Work and support the team to achieve revenue, profit and backlog goals

Support and promote Quality and Safety initiatives throughout the project; ensure every employee goes home safely every day and comply with all required quality procedures

Organize and direct the daily efforts and activities of the project team; establish appropriate priorities

Prepare and submit project budgets

Plan and prepare project schedules

Reviews and understands contracts

Manage customer relationships

Work with Superintendents and General Foremen

Purchase materials and equipment needed to complete the project

Review and submit change orders to client contracts

Review and approve subcontract change orders

Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and staff

Close out projects in a comprehensive and efficient manner

Report to work, on time and prepared to perform all tasks as outlined in job description and / or assigned

Physical Demands and Work Conditions

Must possess good manual dexterity; must be able to sit, stand, kneel, and squat; must be able to lift at least 50 pounds; must be able to hear, speak and see within normal ranges (use of corrective devices is allowed)

Normally works on job site where work is performed in a variety of environments; may be outside or in a manufacturing environment. Will be exposed to weather, dirt/dust, loud noise, and must be able to wear personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

5 years or more heavy industrial construction experience (preferred in paper  mill and/or power plants)

Willing to travel between Olympia WA to Northern CA; overnights will occur based on the current project from zero overnights some weeks to up to 100% overnights at other times

Must have direct industry knowledge and know how to speak the language

Must have strong understanding of millwright, pipefitting, steel fabrication, and welding technology

Prefer Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Construction Engineering or 10 years of related equivalent education and experience

Must be capable of running a small five person team to a 75 + person team

Must be able to read, understand and follow blueprints and drawings

Must be computer literate with excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills

Must have excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving, managerial, mathematical and analytical skills

Must be able to read, write and be able to follow written and verbal instructions

Employee must be able to work independently and be able to exercise independent judgment within defined parameters

Compensation range $90- $125K
